The Academy of Dentistry International Foundation was incorporated in the State of California on June 4, 1986, as a not-for-profit organization 501(c)(3). The founders were former officers of the Academy of Dentistry International. Since then the ADI Foundation has supported and continues to support on an annual basis several other not-for-profit organizations and service projects world wide.
Originally based in Bakersfield, Delano County, California, the Foundation was reorganized and its office transferred to the Academy of Dentistry International central office in Washington, D.C., by the Foundation Board of Directors in May, 1994.The Foundation has solicited most of its funds from Fellows of the Academy, their families and friends and corporations. The Foundation directors regularly select worthy projects and organizations to support. The Foundation, as does the Academy of Dentistry International conjointly set aside funds to support service projects. Contributions to the Foundation are fully deductible as USA IRS tax charitable donations. Contributions to the Foundation go into a general fund unless specifically allocated to a particular project or organization designated by the donor.
The Foundation has supported COAD International of San Diego, CA, the Thousand Smiles Foundation (a special project of Rotary International) of National City, CA, and Health Volunteers Overseas. As a result of which hundreds of young children and adults receive free treatment for their facial and dental deformities.

The Foundation, with the assistance of Academy Fellows worldwide has participated in dental VCR tape exchange programs, the collection and distribution of dental text books, journals and used dental equipment.
As a Fellow you can play an important role in bringing happiness and well-being to children, young adults and others under the auspices of the ADI Foundation. Your donation helps, regardless of the amount. The Foundation provides an opportunity to all Fellows to volunteer professional expertise in direct clinical care to fund service programs and projects
