ADI Annual Awards Program
The
Academy of Dentistry International acknowledges the unique
abilities and contributions of many outstanding members of
the dental and allied professions each year through the Awards
Program.
The
awards are presented at the Academy's annual convocation or
other international meetings in which the Academy participates.
Each recipient is presented with an award, and/or honorary
fellowship by the President of the Academy. Photographs of
the award recipients and their citation are published in the
INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATOR.
Some
or all of the Awards are presented each year. Fellows are
encouraged to nominate worthy individuals because only through
the participation of all fellows can this program be meaningful
and reflect the sentiments of the international Academy membership.
Nomination
Submission
As
a Fellow and a member of the international dental profession,
you are in a special position to nominate deserving persons
for an award. Many dentists, health-care professionals,
community or national leaders and members of the allied
manufacturers and trade industry are never recognized in
public for their contributions to the human condition. This
Academy offers you a venue to recognize them.
The
yearly deadline for nominations is April 30. However, nominations
are always welcome and kept on file for three years for
consideration. Each nomination should include a citation
for the specific award intended. A detailed, current biography
and curriculum vitae must be attached together with a listing
of the individual's publications, awards, honors and other
professional accomplishments. Please suggest a one-line
citation suitable for use on a plaque or certificate. Any
supporting letters from other fellows should be included
in this nomination package.
Send
the entire nomination package to the central office. Be
sure to give the full name, address and telephone number
of both the nominee and the fellow submitting the nomination.
Individuals
chosen to receive an award and/or honorary fellowship will
be notified as soon as possible and before next Convocation
Awards ceremony.
Honorary
Section, Regency or Chapter awards and fellowships may be
presented by the individual units of the international Academy.
The awarding Section, Regency or Chapter should in general
follow the Board of Regents protocol in the selection of
award recipients. The central office should be notified
of such awards so recognition may be given in the INTERNATIONAL
COMMUNICATOR.
